“Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it.”
-1 Thessalonians 2:16
These are words spoken from Paul to the church that was clearly in doubt about God. They apparently did not know that He is sufficient for us at all times.
I have recently been praying to God about my relationship with Him. I felt like I had not been putting him first and I didn’t like that. I want my relationship with Him to be first in my life and I felt like it could be better (believe me, your fellowship with God can always be better).
I talked to my dad about it and he said something to me that was very comforting: “God will never turn away a prayer like that.” How encouraging that was for me!! To know that God was always there, desiring a closer walk with me, was one of the top things I wanted to hear. He is faithful.
What do you see God as? Cosmic vending machine? Big angry man in the sky? Or a loving, faithful and merciful God who desires all men to be saved and come to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ? Faithfulness is something that God is really good at. He is the One who will never change or shift in a very changing, shifting world. He is constant. He is faithful.
I want to leave you all with this. Today, put your entire trust for everything in your life into the arms of God. He is faithful to keep close to us every step of the way. One thing that I always say after I pray is, “By your grace and for your glory.” That is my way of saying, “Everything in my life is at your disposal. Do with as you please.” Believe that, and have faith that He will be with you all the time holding your hand in the hard times and carrying you in the really hard times.
By his grace and for his glory,
