Dear _________,

“The grass withers, the flower fades,
but the word of our God stands forever.” -Isaiah 40:8

I want to give you some encouragement because I know that the world is after you. I’ve been watching over you since the day you were born, and I rejoiced when you accepted My free gift of salvation. You are of infinite worth to Me.

You don’t have to feel so insecure about who you are! You’re trying to fill a void with things that it can’t be filled with. What this world promises it can’t give because it doesn’t know the Source of what it promises. You don’t have to try and fit in, though the world will make you think that. You don’t have to chase popularity or your dreams to find happiness, because you won’t find it in those pursuits. You don’t have to be cool, because you can never be “cool enough.” All the things that are done under the sun are meaningless, a chasing after the wind (Ecclesiastes 1:14). In fact, if you are My disciple, the people of this world will revile you and hate you because of Me! The world offers a view of you that is completely opposite of my view of you. Cling to Me and My promises.

Why are you striving these days? Why are you trying to earn My grace? It cannot be earned because then it wouldn’t be what sets you free…it wouldn’t be grace. I love you, based not on what you do for Me, but because of who I am. My love is unconditional. Rest in that. I don’t take nearly as much delight in machine-like obedience as I do in having your heart. Child, give me your heart.

That’s all I want. Give me your heart and chase Mine. Let Me mold you into who I created you to be. I have a purpose for your life, but you can’t find it if you chase what the world is offering. Give me the keys.

Please don’t resist My love. I want to bless you and give you life at its fullest, but you have to lay aside what this world wants from you.

Nothing in this world can satisfy, because it is temporary…everything- whether it be friendships, possessions, or something else- will go away, but I never will. I will never leave or forsake you.

I am love.

-Your Heavenly Father
