Happy Thanksgiving!

“Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.”

-James 1:17

On behalf of the Found Who I Am team, Happy Thanksgiving! Let’s be thankful for all the things that God has given us, not the least of which are free salvation through Christ and a country where we can worship Him freely.

Hannah (Mr. Myers’ daughter) recently posted of several things she is thankful for, even in this time of trial. They are definitely worth a read!

1. A Heavenly Father who sees every tear, knows every longing, holds every heart, and promises to meet every need we have.

2. An earthly father, who in spite of faults, has loved our family well and pointed us to the Lord with his life and example.

3. A strong, amazing, supportive, loving Mom … faithful to God, to Dad, to us

4. Chilly days and warm wood fires.

5. Our favorite nephew coming over on Tuesday nights (okay, so he’s the only one — but he’s still a favorite!!)

6. Apple cider, hot coffee, peppermint tea

7. The Lord holding us even when we lose our grip on Him.

8. Things that stay normal ~ like sunrises, reminding us of God’s faithfulness.

9. This assurance from Jesus to others going through tough times: “Jesus answered and said to him, ‘What I am doing you do not understand now, but you will know after this.’ ” (John 13:7)

10. Clean, warm water

11. God, who hears prayer (Jeremiah 33:3)

12. Having Dad at home.

13. Mercy new every morning. (Lamentations 3:23)

14. Faithful God, who keeps His covenant of love (Deuteronomy 7:9)

15. Memories – many are painful right now, but still they were good times.

16. Hot soup for supper

17. Washer and dryer … such a huge blessing that I often take for granted

18. “With God, nothing is impossible.” (Luke 1:37)

19. Our cheerful, helpful nurse and CNA

20. Being able to work from home!  Such a gift during this time.

21. Birds flitting to and from the feeder hanging in front of Dad’s window

22. Jesus, our example in suffering AND in triumph, who will “never leave us nor forsake us.” (Hebrews 13:5)

23. Exceedingly great and precious promises. (2 Peter 1:4)

24. The patience and comfort of the Scriptures, giving us hope. (Romans 15:4)

25. “He has set darkness in my path” {but} “I will make darkness light before them.  These things I will do for them, and not forsake them.” (Job 19:8, Isaiah 42:16)

26. Seven siblings here at home … to help, hug, and love; to cry with, laugh with, work with

27. Knowing that God has appointed times and seasons and hard things don’t last forever. (Daniel 2:21, Isaiah 28:26-28)

28. Vehicles that are working and amply meeting our needs.

29. “The Lord is near to all who call upon Him, to all who call upon Him in truth.  He will fulfill the desire of those who fear Him; He also will hear their cry and save them.” (Psalm 145:18,19)

30. Faithful, kind, supportive FRIENDS like YOU!  We’ve been so blessed by you and we hope your Thanksgiving is blessed too!
