I have the pleasure of doing today’s song review! When I found out that I was going to be doing it, I knew just the song to do:
David Dunn’s song “Heart Stops” is my new favorite song by far. The beat and words make me want to sing and dance, but alas, I can’t do either well, so I’ll save you some pain. Anyway, some of the lyrics in that song are:
“If your heart stopped beating
The end of all you know
Has the life you just stopped living
Left anything to show?
Have you wasted so much time!
Do you know what it’d be like
If you’re heart stops beating?”
I’ve always thought about being kind and compassionate and generous to others as just something that you did. But then I realized, after hearing this song, that it is way bigger than that. The life that you leave behind, will it have anything to show? Will it scream that what you did honored and glorified God?
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Howdy! I’m Collin, 16 years old, and a homeschooled junior. I play the piano, ukulele, and many sports. I’m far from perfect, and that’s why I love to share (through this blog) what God is showing me in His word. Although I have many favorite Bible verses, if I had to choose one it would be Romans 12:12, “Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.” I believe that prayer is the most powerful tool we are given as Christians and it should not be taken for granted. Toodles!
