Let me ask a question, and I want you to be honest. What have you done that is undeserving of God’s love? Some of you might say, “Well, lying, cheating, stealing, doing something wrong twice, etc.”
In case you’re wondering, yes, I’m going to give you the ol’ Sunday School answer. But, this time, let’s delve into it, shall we?
Yes, no matter what you do, God loves you. Forever. And ever. And ever. As long as the galaxy lasts, He will always love you for no matter what you do. I have a feeling that someone, some day, is going to read this. They feel discouraged, broken, unloved, lost, or torn. I’ve been there. Trust me. I’ve been discouraged, broken, hated, lost, and torn all at once before! Sometimes, I feel like no matter what I do, I will never be able to get back where I was before I started falling.
But, here’s the good news:
“The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble. (Psalm 9:9 NIV)”
Ahhhhhhh. This verse is my second favorite verse in the whole Bible. Because, as us teenagers (and adults!) go through our lives, we need this verse! He is a refuge for the oppressed. A stronghold in times of trouble! Need I say anymore? God loves you so very much! Do not give up on Him! He might be putting you through trials daily, but just like gold must go through the fire to be refined, so must we go through hardships to come out what God wants us to be like!
Listen to this. Please, if all of the above went right over your head, at least remember this (this is going to sound cheesy, but I’m dead serious): God loves you. There, I said it. But have you really examined that before? I’ll say it again: God loves you! No matter what’s happening in your life (as bad as it gets), God is right there, following and watching you, to see how you react to His sovereign plan. What will you do?
