Who Am I?

So, I think that if I’m going to be writing to you about the good things about being a Christian, I might need to say some important things.

First of all, I AM AN IDIOT. No, I don’t mean that I can’t think for myself or am as dumb as a post. I mean that I am a sinner. I am broken. I am a human. I make mistakes. A whole lot of them. But here’s the good news: I have been redeemed, saved by grace because ‘…God so loved the world that He gave his one and only son, so that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life..’ (John 3:16). God so loved ME that he was willing to sacrifice his son, Jesus, on my behalf. For me. A guy who is a messed up sinner. Wow. A God who would do that deserves more than what I have to give, so I just have to give him me. I have to give ALL of my sin, my talent, my enjoyment, my personality. It is all His. But the cool part is that He FORGIVES me of my sin and my mistakes. All of it. And better yet, He allows me to have my talents and abilities. So isn’t it just right that I give that back? I mean like using my musical skill to worship Him?

Secondly, He didn’t stop there. Not only did he forgive us and save us, but if we choose to believe that Jesus died for us, we can live eternally. Not like never die, but when we die we go to Heaven to spend eternity with Him. It sounds great, doesn’t it?

But He also gave us a mission. In Matthew 28, Jesus says, “Go therefore and make disciples of ALL nations, baptizing them in the name of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the end of the day.” So, let’s go and do that as Christians. It is our duty.

So Who Am I?
I am a Child of God
I am a LIGHT IN A DARK WORLD
I am Forgiven
I am Redeemed
I am Saved
I am ME

Remember, be yourself, but be your NEW self, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.” (2 Corinthians 5:17 ESV)

Have you Found Who YOU Are in Christ?
